Kidal Project

The Kidal Project, 100% owned by Oklo, is located in the vastly underexplored north eastern part of Mali, west African. With an area of 19,930 km2 the project covers a large crystalline geological province known as L'Adrar Des Iforas that considered prospective for palaeo-channel-hosted uranium, alaskite/pegmatite and vein-hosted uranium. There are known occurrences of uranium, gold, copper-lead-zinc and manganese within the project area.
Oklo has obtained an Authorisation to Explore, or AE (a type of reconnaissance tenement issued by the Ministry of Mines & Energy of Mali) valid to February 2008. Under the terms of this authority Oklo has the first right for Group 2 minerals including uranium, precious metals, base metals and rare earths.
Target identification is well underway in the project area with 47% of an airborne geophysical survey having been completed. Data collected from this survey has been forwarded to Southern Geosciences in Perth for processing and the survey is expected to be completed in the near future. It is anticipated that the survey will be completed by January 2008.
In the upcoming months, Oklo will locate and test potential uranium anomalies with ground spectrometry, geo-chemical sampling and drilling. Oklo will lodge applications for Permis de Recherche with the Malian authorities with respect to any identified targets within Oklo’s current exploration permit.
Uranium Radiometrics (NE shadowing) of the northern and southern half of the Kidal Project Area. The survey was flown by UTS Geophysics between September 2007 and January 2008 and independently interpreted by South Geoscience, who compiled the image. Widespread uranium anomalism is associate with fault-effected Pan-African granites and gneisses, pegmatiodal granites, vein systems and acid volcano-sedimentary sequences.
